Everything on the exterior DONE. :)
Wednesday, July 25, 2007 8:30 PM
Well, the title says it all. I am finished with and satisfied with the exterior at this point.
Here are some pics I took after a good wash today. I mean a GOOD wash. Took my time and all that crap, despite the humidity messing with me while trying to dry it. Big thanks to Citra-clean for the bugs, some random bottle of wheel acid, meguires gold class car wash stuff, a pretty sweet bucket of water, an absorber drying rag and a nice soft washing mit lol.

Here are some random pics:

I got more, but these took long enough. I'll resize the others and toss em up sometime.

The exterior isnt done, you need a spoiler.

Clean and shiney car!! Not really my taste, looks too stock-ish to have a ram air hood, but it's not mine! Looks clean and subtle otherwise, I like it.

Before more people come on here and complain about needing a spoiler, like bltch tits here..... there is only one that I would ever get, and im perfectly content without one at all so to me, its done.

Your car looks very nice but a brickyard 3pc would compliment your car so much! Very clean though!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

stock-ish is 100% the route I was going, so to those who said it is "clean" or "simple" or "stock-ish", thanks. This lets me know it ended up how I wanted.

96project: I personaly love the hood. I like the fact that I got it for free and, in my opinion, made it work perfectly. I know the rest of the mods aren't over the top. But I personaly don't think that hood is either. Like I said, stock-ish was the goal, and I know it is a stock design on some camaro SS's, so it worked for me.

z yaaa: I am still 50/50 on the eyelids. I like em, but sometimes I like the car without em too. As far as the skirts, again, I appreciate that everyones taste is different, so I can't disagree with your taste. I can simply say they fit mine. They line up good with the LS front and rear skirts, they're simple, and still different from what most people have. Actualy, come to think of it, I haven't seen anyone on here posting pics of their car with these skirts. And now that I think of THAT, I think someone should! lol. But thanks for the compliments and your critique.

The01cav: Thanks for the compliments. I find it hilarious that you say that about the spoiler. I just got done saying to someone that, that is the ONLY one I would ever consider, but I'm flat broke and it's a fairly expensive spoiler.

chris pond and eternal: Thanks. I, unlike a lot of people on here CAN take criticism and actualy encourage people to let me know what they're taste is, and how they may or may not like things, or would have done things differently... but your short simple compliments are appreciated lol.

Haha, I figured that was the spoiler. There was a beat 4 door cavalier sitting on the side of the road with one on it. I so bad wanted to rob it off of the car. I felt bad since that is such a nice spoiler on such a shoddy car.

I agree, also your rear lip loosk like it's coming off, the lidsjust look too "stick on" and the pins look way out of place. I think that hood could look sweet on your car if the pins were more to the corners and the lids wern't there. The paint is in great shape though.

haha yeah I am very glad, Brandon.

Adam, 3 years in the making to get the exterior where I liked it.

Phil, yes, the eyelids. The clear was in rough shape when I got em from Mark(and I knew it was before I bought em), and nothing else on my car is CF, so i fixed em and painted em.

Other random comments from ya'll:
The sideskirts are Wings West 95-99 lip kit skirts.
Like I said, Im still iffy on the eyelids. One day I love em, One day I hate em.
As for the pins, yes they need to be there. It's an aftermarket fiberglass hood, which apparently as of last month is illegal in my state all together(stupid), but even before that law, it requred me to have hoodpins.
AND, as for the placement of the pins, they were in that location when I got the hood. I didn't want to put the work into filling the holes and drilling new ones.
As for the rear lip, It's not so much that it's coming off, just how it ended up getting mounted. It's on there rock solid, just looks not so perfect. I might adjust it sometime. For now, as long as it's on there tight, I can live with it.

OH, and I took more pics in a slightly better location. I resized these ones though, cuz the other ones took a bajillion years to upload. So here are the ones from this afternoon:

there.

Make the grill black on the hood and then get some black hood pins....then its complete....well in my eyes
Re: Everything on the exterior DONE. :)
Thursday, July 26, 2007 10:45 PM
thought about that jz. i might paint the back of the grille black and flip it around and see which i like best... but i might just keep the billet pins and grille. they dont look too too out of place or bad by any means IMO.

And, I MIGHT be snagging a brickyard spoiler sometime soon.,.. if i get it, i will see how much the body shop wants to color match it, and toss it on.
