Re: new pix

i dont know why people insist on doing things the hard way

Re: new pix

I work at autozone and I asked my manager about our gabriels and he said if somebody runs lowering springs and the shocks/struts blow, it voids out the warranty. The gabriels aren't meant for lowering but he said that you could probably get away with lowering springs that drop it an inch and if you lucky maybe an inch and a quarter.

just let him do what he wants. hey i try to help people and tell them the right thing to do. all we can do is inform people, we cant make them do it.

Re: new pix

ehh i get used to it working their, people buy parts that they dont really know anything about or if it is what they need and just seem like they're in denial if you say they prolly wont, others just get pissed and say you dont know what you're talking about, so needless to say i know how you feel.

everyoen dose thier own thign on here u don't see ppl going out n changin thier car just b/c sumone says that it would't work im gonna try it it's only temporary

Re: new pix
Thursday, March 08, 2007 7:03 AM
thats fine like i said no one can force you to do anything. if you dont believe anyone that its not going to work then ok. just realize even if it is only temp that you have to waste time again to change out the struts and pay for an alignment again once you put the proper struts on. good luck w/ the install

Re: new pix
Thursday, March 08, 2007 2:33 PM
now i understand ur concern n im the same way when sumone dosent lissen to my 2 cents but when u got 20 ppl tellin ya 20 diffrent thigns you kinda give up go with your instinct n it's jsut hit or miss ohh well no harm done if they blow they blow this thread went from me showing new pix of my car to ppl critisizing me abut my suspension set up

Re: new pix

My .02 :

- Get the best when it comes to suspension specially when lowering a car. I learned the hard way with KYB's and Ground Controls.

* I spent like $1000 dollars for the KYB's, G. Controls, and Installation. (not cheap, when in fact it was supposed to be one of the cheapest routes to take)

* After riding around with that set up my ball joints got messed up along with other stuff. $500 repair

* Pacesetter Header and Magnaflow cat back exhaust got damaged from all the bouncing and scraping. ( Had to pay for new pipes and patch work. Now looking for new header)

* Struts blew and the tires hit and scraped the fenders damaging the fender and scratching the walls of the tires.

* Battery spilled ( common batteries are not meant for use with excessive vibration) from all the harsh ride and rusted the ground from the battery causing electrical problems. ( Had to buy new battery, repair wires, repair ground)

* It will also affect your accelaration, turning, barking etc.

* This is just a short list of the problems a bad set up caused. Back when i got this set-up there was not a lot of info or a variety of set ups to compare suspensions on our cars. Fortunatly today more people have modefied their suspension therefore more info plus experience.

After a long time I finally saved up for something more decent, the TEin SSp dampers. It was hard to wait and save. The key word is wait, a lot of times we rush have or cars "hooked up" and don't make wise decisions. Better to ride around a year with the wheel gap and save for a better set up. You will enjoy the ride later.
