Project Z24 and Sunfire updates!
Friday, March 16, 2007 10:33 AM
A couple weeks ago I picked up an 02' Z24 with a knocking engine and a trans with a bad 2nd gear.

Check out the license plate area on the back. lol. Was supercharged by the previous owner but the plate is still appropriate. lol

And obviously it has some cosmetic issues also.
The car came with rk sport prostreet coilovers which will eventually make its way onto the Sunfire.

I got the windows tinted on my Sunfire. 40% all around. And the car repainted for the 5th time after my accident. And it's going back in for the 6th time. arrrg.

The interior is mostly taken apart to fix my rattling rear speaker deck.

And the door panels are taken off so I can install my polk 6.5's:

Oh, and my floor mats which I've had for a while now.

The sunfire will get the prostreets coilovers, but when I put those in I plan to install these at the same time:

Rk sport/ eibach front and rear sway bar set.
Also the Z24 has a solid lower motor mount which I'll transfer over to the fire.

3/5ths of the family of J's:

Still haven't taken a picture of all 5 yet. But will do.

Anyways let me know what you think.

That's because the Sunfires keep beating it up & stealing parts from off of it!

Geeds/John: So far the plan is to put it back to stock. So rebuild or replace the engine with a used one. Get another manual trans. And get a lot of random things from the junkyard. And yes the cavi took one to the grill.

Well I bought a new battery for the Z. It still wouldn't start. So I checked the fuses by pulling them out and checking. They were all good, so I tried to start the car again and it fired right up. Right up to 3000rpm. So I'm thinking vacuum leak as only two throttle body bolts were present. So I finally deceided to take it apart. The t.b. gasket is missing completely. lol
It's refreshing to work on a car that is easy to work on. I've only used a 10mm and 13mm.
Here's after I took the intake manifold off:

Also I got the speakers installed in the sunfire:

Floormats were from (I think) starwest.

Alex, I don't think I'm going to make it. Me and the GF are going to do something. But yeah, the new speakers sound a lot better.
