I bought the same one for the girlfriends 3000gt a while back, I'm glad to see they are still worth something Ours took a little while to get the sound adjusted right, but overall it's a pretty nice head unit.

I realive Alpine has amazing headunits, (I have one myself) but whats so special about it, why is it so much money? Not trying to be a dick, just wondering.

I dunno what I'm gonna do with the deh-680mp thats in it now, it's got issues with it, this alpine is the last of the high wattage ones and has a insane amount of control and features.

983x units were the last of alpines good bang for the buck, feature filled, usefull, no bs head units... since those ones, they are lacking big time... i still got a 9830 kicking around somewhere i meant to sell a while back./... any offers? lol

I wanted a 9835 but couldn't locate one, the only difference being the screen but oh well the same otherwise.

Hmm...idk. As long as they aren't coded to the specific deck (for like security) then I suppose it might work. They're on the same users manual and such. I just don't know whether the controlling part is in the deck or the faceplate.
You could call alpine and see what they say. They should give you a straight up answer and they've always been helpful when I call in. 1-800-ALPINECARES (it'll actually be 1-800-ALPI-NEC)

sounds better than pioneer then, E-mailed them for a problem with my current premier that I've had for 8 months, they wont cover it cause it wasn't through a authorized buyer.

The remote for that Alpine is the exact same remote for the cd-player I used to have that was literally 10 years old. O_o



Looks nice though, I have been wanting one like yours for a while.

Does anyone know anything about the one that I posted? Is it possible to get another face plate for it?

Wow that is a old unit there. I dont think that there is anything for that. You should get a new dash kit and make it mount flush instead of sticking out like that. Just have to trim the plastic behind it to make it work.

Yeah, it was a cheap dash kit from Wal-Mart but I had no choice since it was like 2 in the morning and I wanted to get it in. Cav has the stock radio now, not sure if I want to put another cd-player in yet or not.

I do kind of want to run that stereo again though.. if only I could find a face plate.

I just recently got my gf the Alpine CDA-9857, she loves it to death! Ohh, and I'm not too sure if the model you got has i-pod support, but I would STRONGLY recomend getting the cable. Get the Alpine version of the cable, it lasts alot longer and it reads the i-pod instantly.
