not my taste, i woulda thought of other things to do with that hood (that i happen to have lol), but its ur car, and if it flows with the over all look, good for you

I just bought a 20 inch widescreen ultrasharp flat pannel..I'm going to have to subscribe to the high quality porn places now......damn
No haven't got a look for it yet. I was just trying this one out. When I get ready to paint the whole car its going to all get sanded off anyway.
What other things were you thinking about?
having the same hood myself i definantly can think of other things i would have done with it... i would have thought of something more along the lines of this
but it looks like it turned out really well so congrats on the paint job

that is what i was thinking, as well as painting inside the scoop area black (there is a guy with a red 2 door with it done, btw he has the sexiest car on the org IMO lol, someone got those pics?? hes rocking some 16 inch 5 spokes that look kinda like old school F40 rims...)... anywho... those would be my 2 suggestions on 2 toning the hood. Im actualy sad to say this, but that red car is a lot of what mine will look like when finished (if it ever gets paint after the 2 years of needing paint)... so of coarse im biased to that idea. but it realy is the best look for that hood i think

That looks good with a green car, but mine is white. To match the rest of the car the scoop would probably need to be black and I think that might stand out too much ( not that flames on the front doesn't stand out).
black on white i think would look tacky if painted how that green one is, ill get pics of the one im talking about, it looks good on any color...

i think the hood looks fine man. if it rolled out to the fenders and the bumper was the darker color too, it would be a sweet looking paint scheme.
how did you do the flames?

HERE It has more pictures of the progress. The flames are actually a reflective clear coat. It makes them look a shade darker and the reflect in a rainbow mirage color in the sun light. If I decide to keep them I will have it from the bumper up and wrapped onto the fenders when I repaint the whole car. I hope to repaint this spring but I'm not sure. I've had the hood since around April and finaly got fed up with driving around with a white car and a gray primer hood.
I like the way you did it a lot. Painting the vent is done often on lots of cars with that style hood, The flames are kinda unique.
Thanks for the comments everyone.
I'm digging it, subtle yet different =)
whats the white duplicolor color that you used to paint your hood?
paint looks pretty good, flames look very amateur.
homieJ: Base coat is GM Bright White Dupli-Color 433 I think, the flames were Dupli-Color clear Effex. Unfortunately they only make the base coat paint in a 5oz can so it took 7.5 cans.
All: Yes, I spray painted the whole thing. No, I'm not going to do that when I repaint the whole car.
Sec-Z :Yep, I guess you could call me an amateur, since this was my first flame job ever. Do you have any suggestions on how to make them look better? What do you find amateurish about them?
