Yet ANOTHER TTR 2.4 mount install
Thursday, October 19, 2006 12:23 AM
Intalled the TTR 2.4 Upper mount today (thanks WrenchMonkey/Tom for being my hands, and ZSpeedCavi/Curt for keeping us company )

Tools Needed:

1 x 3/8" drive Wratchet
2 x 3/8" drive 6" Extension
1 x 3/8" drive Deep 15mm socket
1 x 3/8" drive 10mm socket
1 x Pair of Pliers

Time to install: 15mins

Difficalty of install: 1 on a scale of 10 (1 easy, 10 hard)

Here are some pics from the install.....

Placing jack under the lower mount, half a pump to hold the engine in place.....

Pulling the coolant bottle bolt...... used a pair of pliers to pull the small coolant line......

Moved coolant bottle to get at one of the 3 15mm nuts......

Pulling the 2 15mm bolts from the engine mount bracket......

Stock mount vs my TTR mount........

Mount set in place and the 2 15mm bolts started.......

Lowered the mount down onto the 2 studs, and then tightened up the 15mm bolts.......

Tightened up the 2 nuts and 2 bolts........

Reinstalled coolant bottle and admired sexy new mount.....

My Review:

Alot stiffer/stronger then the stock mount with insert. Even under load, the engine DOES NOT MOVE! In my case I did notice more vibs then with the stock/insert combo, BUT I do also have an Old School RK lower mount, and the Prothane trans mounts (also no balance shafts ).

I give this product a 5 out of 5 in both aperance and function.

Thank you Aaron for providing us with a REAL Engine mount!!!

i said why in my post why i didnt use it yet , but just to re-cap

since ive got the super charger , the a/c line runs right under the bracket for the nose support for the s/c , and the hose rubs the bracket , on the stock mount it held the hose up to high and it rubbed , even with me tweaking the hose

ive got to get a clamp similar to the 1 in this auction to hold the hose - http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Summit-G1888-Hose-Mounting-Clamps-1-500in-Diameter-Hole_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ42604QQihZ011QQitemZ320039220297QQrdZ1

If you dont have the GM supercharger which most dont; the A/C bracket is there to keep the OEM look.

Mine is an eco but its the same exact thing just a little taller, me and phil mocked up the model for aaron to use and he left the ac line holder on there.

Hmmm the 2.4 ac lines dont have that metal connector for the top hole of the mount.. Oh well, I wont be using it anyway. No big deal.
