final engine shots
Monday, October 02, 2006 6:14 PM
well after this weekend show season for me is pretty much over. got a meet to take the car to in two weeks then the car goes into the garage for winter to get a 05 ecotec motor installed so i figured i'd post some final pics of the engine. i didnt have any plans on changing anything this year until gauges magazine asked to shoot the car so i had to do some quick cleaning up. i repolished the valve cover. bought whitecavy's polished alternator. i redid the wiring and replaced my old yellow top with a new one and added a plexi cover to it with new wiring and connectors, and then fabbed up a metal shroud to try and hide the stock rusty header. i also added new wires from A+ well heres the pics. and if anyone is looking for a motor in the next month or two check back with me as this one is going to be yanked really soon.

and the reason its coming out.

little birdie found it. and for the price roughly will be 500$ for an extra 35 hp boost from the start. to much power for to little money to pass up. and yes a s/c will most likely be on by fall unless the car gets a new repaint.

Nice job on keeping the 2200 bay neatly!

Lets see what you can do with the ECO.

dont you mean the header? Its not an ecotec ... its a 2200 engine. The header is towards the front bumper, the intake manifold is towards the firewall. Ohh, and that is probaly just rust or the cast-iron color, not too sure.

yeah the header is completly rusted so i just made the cover with some left over metal for the gauge photoshoot. didnt want all that rust visable.

gotta remember rusty its pretty much just being used for shows now and a complete repaint will help me allot more then the s/c. the s/c will be more for just me lol
