He probably broke the plastic tabs that hold the shift boot frame in place, like I did. Just silicone it into place. Holds fine.
yea the plastic tabs broke and also the boot frame itself broke. so it looks a little weird but i still love it!
nice can you still use the stock shift boot and knob?

nice welcome ot the short throw club.. lol... that was the VERY first mod i did to my car and LOVE it.. i have trouble driving cavlaiers with stock shifter now HEHEHE.... but yea very nice man and you got a hell of a price on it.... oh and i broke the tabs on mine too LOL...
Thanx for the comments guys. I absolutely love my short throw! If you don't have it, you def have to get it. It was pretty easy to install(Tom) and fits just like OEM. It didn't come with instructions but we just went with it. I found a very helpfull write up when i searched too.
themarin8r - Actually if i ever get some pictures up you would see that the red boot does match my dash cover which is red and black. the vents and air bag cover are red. thanx tho.
Yea now that i think about it, i wish i did keep my stock stuff to sell on here and/or ebay. o well.

of all the things I've done to my silver cav my short throw is still my favorate mod on it. I'm gonna get one for the tan ccav as well

Not trying to thread jack, but how is the quality of those eBay short shifters compared to B&M? I'm going to be getting a short throw in a week or so. I'd love to save $80 if I wouldn't be skimping on quality too much.

I drove seans car after I helped install it. Drove pretty smooth and not notchy or anything like that.
i opted against the cheapo knockoff and bought the real B&M... hopefully it holds up for ya, but i didnt want to risk it. i would hate to be driving down the road and my shifter falls apart. i do like the chrome knob on that one tho. the B&M isnt that shiney.
i have a b&m on my new car lol just though i would throw that out there pretty excited lol
