2006 = BOOST, RD Fabs Style!!!
Monday, July 03, 2006 9:57 PM
After being pushed further and further back by all the work we've had this season, we finally got her up and running tonite. She still needs to be tuned and there's plenty of little "detail" work to do, but I just couldn't wait any longer to get these pics up! There's so many little details about the work we've done that I could type all night. If anybody wants to know the specifics, feel free to ask! All the work was done in-house by us, with Ryan pretty much doing the welding and me the rest of it.

Sorry for the shape of the engine...it's LAYERED in dust and won't be truly show ready for a few more weeks. Enjoy!

That looks great, why the WAI though? I would think a fender well CAI would be far better for keeping intake tems down as it's sitting right by the header and turbo.

15.3 @ 89.97mph, 14's on the way?

Either way I like what you've done. Is the wrapping you have now rust resistant?

Thanks for the good words so far, guys!!!

Ian Brydon -

Honestly, we just ran out of room, which is why I did the short ram. That side of the engine has a lot of "stuff" going on, so that spot made the most sense for now.

No, you're totally right, man. I actually have the 3800 S/C sitting in the shop behind the lift. We just didnd't have time to tackle that project this winter. This turbo setup was a complete afterthought.

John Higgins -

Bone stock, yes. If I end up liking this setup, I might be building my spare 2200 next winter instead of installing the 3800.

Bballjamal (Cav-AtL) -

Pretty much everything that's wrapped (now) is stainless steel (turbo manifold, downpipe, oil fill tube, wastegate blow down tube...) The only thing that isn't is the radiator piping, but that'll turn into stainless steel next winter.

Looks nice Chris...

Too bad I didn't get a chance to see it when I was out there earlier this summer. If you have it running next weekend and want to meet up and take it out, I'll be in Syracuse with my new ride. Nice to see you finally got it put together.

P.S. - Thanks again for the help with the intake on my bro's car. It's running strong, sounds mean, and he said his MPG went up, lol.

I like it, but i'm just going to give you one draw back that you prolly can't help, but i see a $%^& load of wires and lines all over the engine bay of a clean car, clean the hoses and wires up and it'll be sex.

looks good, i like the look of the black wrap...not sure if it means anything or not but I'm an Industrial Insulator at Marathon Oil Refinery and they said that we have to remove all black wrap on lines because over time it causes thinning of the metal walls....like i said, thats over time but still food for thought. Anywho, keep up the good work!
