1/4 & 1/2 mile oval dirt track (my class in mostly 1/4mi). Did Phase 1 of the paintjob last night. This was the original design I came up with, but I'm too lazy to tape all that hahah.

Instead, I currently have this:

And I just made a couple potential photoshops. MS Paint sucks tho, the blue would be the "Anodized" blue paint (like candy)

I know I still need to brace that aluminum sheet inbetween the headlights, lol. Got a whole bunch of work to do before I can start competing. Steelies, taller springs (suspension will be set-up for *turning left* lol), hidden light-weight dieting, remove side & rear glass, removable lexan windows, battery relocate, blah blah blah. Plenty more...

For those wondering "why spraypaint" - it's a hick track, they like to play bumper-cars/demo-derby to the finish line lol. I'm not gonna blow big money on a pro paint job that would get F'd2daA in a few races.

Oh yea, I should also mention that another thought I'm having is doin' the *regular* two-tone all the way back with the silver.

2000 Cavalier, 2200 auto, 19.5MPG avg ... FTL.

SC2, 1.9L DOHC 5spd, 30ish MPG avg ... FTW.

As for why four door? I've had this car for like 3 years, why would I sell it and buy another Cavalier?!

Here's two shots of the blue I was talkin' about

Thanks for proving to me why all the worthwhile people that used to be on this site have stopped coming here. I guess ignorance really is bliss, huh?

It's an 03+ front conversion

FTL is opposite of FTW, haha. For The Lose; For The Win

You got the bright colors on the bottom, where the dirt is going to build up first, especially during track packing. The dark colors on top will make you blend in with the backgroud, especially at night and on the far side of the track.

The third scheme does look good though. A black outline on the numbers might help them to stand out against the silver. Spay the steelies silver too, helps brighten thing up.

^ I was kinda thinkin' about the dirt build-up, but it wouldn't build up enough to be a problem with that much silver. And when I'm not racing, it'll be at home where I could easily wash it off between races. I will be sprayin' the steelies once I get them (required in case they fall off), and the numbers was just a quick shop, Paint can't do outlines on text (to my knowledge). Thanks for the intelligent comments tho

Finally somebody who gets it lol.

OK, finally a couple more pics. The inners are just temp, I didn't have enough screws to put the aluminum sheet in their place.

Sadly the blue looks patchy (and really is on the pass side, thus no pics hah) because two cans wasn't enough for the bit that got painted. Went to a few stores and couldn't find another can of it, so it'll have to wait a bit.
