Yeah that gives me horrible memories of what happened to me last may. Almost the exact same style break in. Sucks man.

One was shopping mall in the evening, and one was my g/f house at night.

I don't know what to tell ya. Maybe lay low for now with the car.
It caused me to not invest so much into the audio anymore.
Hell, your guy was strong enough to break the plastic, my guys couldn't do it.
They took JUST the faceplate, too bad that the faceplate was worth 90% of the deck's price.

been there done that. ive had 3 break ins as well. 2 different trucks in 2 different cities. i've been lucky so far. my timer is ticking though. good luck. my insurance has always paid the difference of my deductible. and hopefully they do not void your policy or whatever.

This has to be a location thing. I've never had any of my vehicles broken into.
Also on the whole faceplate thing. I don't think it stops anyone. I actually used the brackets that came with my pioneer so the faceplate can't be removed. Figured if they stole one part it doesn't do me a whole lot of good to have the other.
I'm also going to assume either this person knew you or has seen your setup. Your running pretty dark tint so there is a fairly low chance that someone walked by and happened to see the sweet system in your car.

ive never had issue with it...but the one time i was worried about it...i was luckily sitting on the front porch at like 1230am and they pulled up...got out..saw me...and left. that was about a year ago.

not all that uncommon you can get faceplates cheap on ebay especially if its a popular deck.
why dont you just invest in a 2way lcd alarm as well as a spare battery

my driveway is nice and long (for a house in the city) with motion lights mounted high, and aimed on my car....... plus the alarm....... and the fact that its right under the bedroom window...... and the 2 houses on either side of me also have windows over looking my driveway...... would take a thief with balls of steel to break into it..... not that I have much in it to steal, my headunit is a few years old (5 or so).......
