Yesterday I finally got some time to work on my engine.
Took it from this :
to this:
soon i'll have it in and get to start playing.
Turbo....Yes
Red Block...Yes
I see some Spectre...Yes
Missing...Chrome Valve Cover
Wanted....That whole thing...NOW!
Silver Stripey makes your Day!
Sorry, no chrome valve cover. It will be RED as well. That is once i strip the black off and paint it. But since I have so many spare parts for the engine, I'll do it at a later time to have something to do one hot summer night.
ahhhhhh poppa likie like...
can you send me job or part numbers for the pistons and connecting rods... you have mail... LOL
horsepower is how hard you hit the wall, Torque is how far you push the wall with you
Very nice. Interesting custom turbo manifold you have there. Why didn't you cut the whole bottom exit part off? Just looks a little funky. I like the whole thing though. Nice work

It is what happens when you are "borrowing" steel from your in-laws business and don't want to cut into a new piece. Basicly I was told "you can have all the steel you want, as long as it is scrap".
I think I may end up putting a EGT probe in there. It will probably be a little slow to respond being out of the direct path of exhaust, but it should average out decently.
I do agree that it looks a little funky and out of place. Tho I think more people around here will be saying "WOAH, you turboed a base Sunfire? You crazy?" rather than notice a funny manifold.
looks great. now go ahead and drop it into my car.
it looks like you did a topfeed conversion to your intake manifold. how much work went into that and what size injectors do you have in there now?
i've got about 6-8 hours into machining and tweaking the manifold. i just have to cut out my spacer and it will be done. the injectors are 36lb.hr
wait a minuet, 2 things look off... do the cylinders actually have the crosshatch pattern honed inot them, they don't look liek it but its hard to tell form the pics, and is the oil line on the turbo hooked up to the fuel rail???
nice work, now get that thing in the car!
Yea it does look like the turbo is connected to the fuel rail haha.
Nice set-up though. Even though it seems like you put some serious work into that mani it doesn't look like it will perform good to me. Well, we'll see man! Hope everything works out fine for ya!
N2O + Bolt-ons
= 220Hp/
250Tq
Coming Soon:HpTunersPro, EagleConnectingRods, WiescoPistons, 13sec2200
Pushrods FTW!
................Which car will hit 400 whp first???................

they do have the crosshatch pattern on them, i just put a good coating of oil on the walls to protect them from the elements during my delayed build.
Source for the turbo oil feed is directly under intake runner for cylinder #1 so that is why it looks like that

I hope it works well too. Everyone elese that has done the conversion this way has had good success. (Tony Gibson and Emry to name a couple) Of course it isn't quite finished yet seeing as how the upper plenum and TB aren't on there yet.
just have to finish the spacer for it.
Keep the comments coming.
