Where to mount a gauge you ask?

First you take this...

and this...

do some dremel-ing to line the two up, and hot-glue them together like this...

then you take some epoxy to hold'em together strong, a little bit of filler, a LOT of sanding, and voila!

I'll be priming/painting it within a few days, I'll take some final pics once the gauge goes in. I used to have a 3 pod a-pillar, but didn't like it, as well I had an a/f gauge and water temp, which weren't necessarily useful. This one will house my oil pressure gauge.

I got rid of all the glue on the outside before I applied the bondo, sanded it all down so it should bond quite well.

not like its the outside of the car anyway, just a cheap little plastic piece, of it breaks or whatever, you can redo it pretty damn cheap

Looks like an awfully famaliar setup. Just that mine isn't fiberglassed up to match.

i love mine because it only covers up areas i dont need to see and puts the most important gauges in the easiest spot to view.

ive got a pod like hypsy does

and a friend of mine actually mounted his pod to a screw under the cover and cut a slot in the cover and then out the pod back on its leg

which makes it sit lower than mine or hypsy's

looks like a good start
