**changes are here**
Very nice job, it doesn't look bad at all.. put the right color rims on it and I think it would look damn good.. If you didnt say pink in your opening paragraph I would of thought the color was some kind of maroon... I say keep it this way hehe..

RIP Kasey Burleson, and get well soon Chris Shelly
is there clear on it? that might be the reason for the dullness...if there is clear did you wet sand it after? if so, did you pollish it?
might be a simple fix.
Looks real good. Need to get some rims though.
I think it looks good, it dont look pink to me either, i say keep that way like everyone else has said

i did clear it, 2 coats, but i must have done something wrong. i was told to wetsand with 2000 grit after i cleared it, but when i did that it almost seemed as if there was no clear on the car at all. would my best bet be to wetsand and clear it again?
i do have rims, they're chillin in my basement until spring. they are 18" exel daytonas, gunmetal with a polished lip. here's a pic
thanks for all the positive comments, i really wasn't expecting any.
like eevryone else that is actually a cool lookin color. either put some more clear on it wet sand it or wheel it out. itll look reall good all done with a nice set of rims.
i like it!!
pretty darn good job on the handles & locks too!
yeah that dose look good clear it and then your set
Since you wet sanded it you need to buff it out to bring out the shine and I'm not talking about hand buffing I mean use a real buffer.
id say wetsand and re-clear, just use 1,000 gritt sand paper basicaly just enough to scuff it make sure you dont sand through, you dont have to go nuts with sanding, clean it real good, and put another real wet coat of clear on it. when you spray it it should look like a mirror really shiny thats how u know u have enough.
How thick did you put the second coat of clear on? The first coat should be a mist and the second should be so thick it almost runs....even if it does run you can sand it out and never see it.....dont put 10,000coats of cleat bc it wont shine and it will chip easily....what you need to do is lightly scuff it and re-clear it or have someone that knows how to clear it do it for you....it will turn out great...
Have someone with a buffer buff it out. I wouldnt reccomend doing it yourself cuz youll burn right thru the clearcoat.
Ofcourse its not gonna shine after you sand it.
Looks pretty decent though.
like everyone else said, wetsand lightly, put another coat of clear on, then wetsand again. Then get it buffed out at a body shop or if you feel up to the task. I'm sure once it shine it will look less pink, even though it doesn't really look pink to me anyways. Good luck!
IMO it looks really good. Clear it and itll look great. You did what you were supposed to do. But Heres what you forgot to do. After you wetsand it with 2000 grit sandpaper, you MUST take a high speed buffer to it. Not just some regular buffer. A high Spee one. And normally they are very expensive. You can get em at any auto industrial stores. But, If you have a Dual Action sander that will work too. Youll just have to buy an velcro adapter for about 17.99 and buy a waffle FOAM pad. Alot of people say the waffle pads work better cuz the heat doesnt build up so much. But if you cant find one that you need just get a regular one for it. Just becareful not to sand over edges or corners, youre clear coat will lose alot right away. So heres what you do, wet sand back and forth not in circles with 2000 grit sand paper. Then apply 3M Profession Formula Perfect-It II Rubbing Compound, Then buff till shiney. But buff nice and easy and watch out for corners. It will take everything off quicker than you think. If your not sure if i know what im doing, well....this is how mine came out after i painted mine in my garage:
^^ thats hot..
