Take all that ghey stuff off....Nice find!
emblems and side moldings need to go. nice buy!
I'd say take the emblems off but leave the side moldings on for daily driving so you don't have little door ding dents up the sides. That's what i've always done with mine. Very nice car though. Looks just like my old one.... I miss it
thanks guys, i introduced my other one to her lil sis they seem to be getting along lol, i was leaning toward takin the emblems off but wasnt sure but like tsmock said i am going to be leavin the moldings on cuz it is my d.d. anyone know how to disable the daytime running lights on the 00+ models?
Disabling DRL's is a piece of cake!
You know where the BCM is? It's in the driver's side kick panel area, peel the carpet back and you'll find it tucked up there. Pull out the middle plug, there's a few blue wires, so look and locate the darkest blue one. Cut it leaving a few inches from the plug which you'll need to crimp an extension onto. Now just ground that extension, I used the steering column bolts that's down there! 13mm socket, 2 feet of wire, butt connector, crimpers and you're done!
Congrats dude, I can see your psyched as I am for you! Nice find!
A good cheap mod to start you off would be the lower engine mount, then swap that n2o kit
! Haha.
From the NY j-body site-
All you have to do is locate the Body control module located on the driver’s side kick panel (in front of the door, by your feet).
Once you are there, there are three connectors that plug into it. The middle plug has two rows of pins. The plastic keepers are lettered "A" and "B" unplug the center plug (the dome light will go off when you do this) locate the "A" & "B" markings on the darker blue portion of the connector. On the "B" side row of pins, there is a dark blue wire six spaces over from the one side, seven over from the other. Cut this wire and simply add on a piece to the side that goes to the module connector, long enough to reach any good ground lug, like a screw in the metal part of the dash. Connect the wire to ground, and inside the body control module, it sees this to mean that the regular headlights are on, and so it energizes the relay that turns off the DRL's. That's it, try it, it works perfect, NO side Affects. I
awsome thanks joe that will be done tmw! yeah i want mounts for sure, when it starts up i can feel the motor rock! lol not used to that. i have a link on another n2o kit but not sure if i wanna put spray to it. i was looking at the aerospeed headers that IamRascal found on ebay.
i saw keep exterior as stock as u can, even if its keeping the embels if you are planning on doing performacne mods.. just my 2 cents,
wish i would have done my like that.
Yeah if I could do it all over again, my car would still have side moldings/emblems and that nice stock interior/exterior feel. Definately wish I could afford a fresh start, but I couldn't do another j-body, don't have that kind of motivation anymore for this platform.
Airtonics S/C on his 2.2l Eco has definately impressed me though!
dang you 2 i had my mind made up on takin the emblems off but now im back where i was!! i do like the stock look of it and i like the way they look with no emblems!! crap
ahhhh yes..i remeber that long A55 shifter when I got my cav
..if only i could get my hands on some LS wheel instead of my Z wheels
sexy car

Real cars don't make power at the front wheels......

I am jealous though as I wish I could do some @!#$ over again, and be completely happy!
why do all those cutting of the wires just disconnect the drl fuse in the fuse box???? but nice pick.
**changes are here**
joe - the same thing with my other cav, im gonna take my time and have a plan on this one and make sure i dont compramise on any puchases.
i thought if you disable the fuse it will make the pass side high beam not work?

Uh tricking the car into turning them off the proper way as if it would when parked, makes a lot more sense than driving with the "SERVICE" light on, now doesn't it genious?
mmmm 02 Eco, kinda what i was lookin for when i bought mine
looks good man, nice clean slate
