Well, lets see, what do we have here......
GM Getrag?
But wait, I have a 3 speed auto in mine, what would I be doing with an 01' getrag 5-speed?
Oh, but whats that sitting next to the getrag transmission?
Ahah!! Why yes, that would be my Supercharged 3800 Series II V6. Yes folks, i just finally picked up the transmission for this beast. Swap is beginning soon, I just need a few more parts to get ready for the frame.
Oh, and for everyone who gave me @!#$ and saying it would never be done --->
awesome, i envy you

well, i wouldn't have gotton it if i didnt know if it would fit or not, Ive been doing my homework for the past year and a half now on this swap
But, as for the swap, it will begin as soon as I feel like parting with my car for a while. I have a few shows coming up still and id like to finish out the summer driving my car a little more.
Now that i have the transmission, i need the headers to get started on the framework inside the engine bay. While im doing this i will be working on changing out the shifter linkage and everything else neccesery to convert to a 5-speed.
Im trying to think of a way to document this swap along the way, sort of like Doublezed did with his big ass thread
that looks sweet meck , thats what were gonna do to my fire probably by next spring too anyways keep us posted
good to see you update. like darkstars, i was wondering this past weekend when i saw a orange cav around my way......

eh, i just eventually got to the point where I got sick of everyones crap on here. Its amazing when you sit back and not post for a few months and take a look at all the ignorance and stupidity that plagues this site. I would come on every now and then to see whats going on but never felt like posting.
Its also been a busy summer for me. Im gone from home 10 hours a day working as a service tech for a Honda dealership in State College. Then in the evenings and weekends im just beat. Ive been trying to get my other cavalier finished so i have a daily driver when my orange one goes under the knife.
good luck, keep us updated on how it turns out
it's been to long since ive seen you post!
Greg bro it is so good to see a post made by you buddy! I was wondering how things were going! Glad to see that you are gonna be getting started on this insane project of yours in the early fall. Gonna be crazy next spring/summer that is for sure. Also don't let the negative stuff on the JBO get to you, their are A LOT of great people here that are happy to see people post pics of their ride. I know a lot of members personally that were wondering how you have been doing. Like my dad always taught me, don't sweat the small stuff. Not saying you do bro, just reminding ya that a huge percentage of this site thinks your work and ride are badass
.
so...you're using a custom flywheel as well? I'm under the impression the only way to put a 5 speed tranny on the 3800 was to have a 2.2 flywheel customized slightly...
that swap is gonna take all winter lol, good luck with it.
i love it. 3800 is my dream swap. do mine next, pretty please?????
