Well I've done some audio work lately, and this is the latest of it. After much debate over it I picked up Sirius over the weekend. I personally prefer it over XM, and my JVC deck is Sirius compatible, so for the price, I couldn't pass it up. They're offering great rebates right now.
I cut out the center plastic cover to accomodate the antenna, I then removed the anchor and bent it accordingly, being that the antenna is magnetic mount.
I do not plan on tinting this car, and I still get just as good signal as any exterior mounted antenna. I'll post pics of the front part of the install as soon as my aux. input adapter arrives and I get it put back together.
thats a great ieda
its cool that you still get great signal
Just in case (another host)-

. So clean and subtle sitting there too, I love it.
I just got done installing my Pioneer 4x6's and put the door panel together. So, I'm only waiting for that adapter, and time to paint my door handles again, and she's done for the summer!
Looks like it turned out great very descrete, now you can be cool like me.
Fatalic CAVI put a little speaker in there it looks bad @ss but i dont know if he has any pics
Sirius ROCKS...CHANNEL 27 AND 20 is all a man needs
Sweet install.
Having used both XM and Sirius on the way out to Vegas and back I'd never buy anything but XM.
XM is nice, I just preferred the music Sirius plays, and being that my deck was compatible, why not? I also got a deal XM couldn't touch.
The dock install I kept simple, and user friendly. It "is made" to run through your FM, however mine will be running directly through my deck as the sound quality is 100x better than anything FM modulated.
Sure it's not fiberglassed with hours of work, but it's clean and
functional meaning I can remove it when needed, and everything on the side is accessible-
looks awesome, I've been thinking of getting sirius radio since my in dash tv in compatible with it...
great work joe......like my new member name? lol

GOT ECOTEC?
Way to use the brain joe!
I have had SIRIUS for over 2 years now... I love it....
It looks good but Im confused. If your receiver is Sirius ready why do you have a seperate dock? I always thought you didn't need an external dock with a compatible head unit, just one of the boxes that hides under the dash.

You are correct. However getting the box that gets hidden and all to run it directly through the deck, more often than not, is a lot more pricey. Besides I kinda prefer the dock, it gives me everything I need, easy to read, search, and operate and it truly is the smallest one I've yet to see. My dock is made to run through your FM radio, however that sounds like @!#$, so it's running directly through my deck via a aux. input adapter cable.
DAVE, post it up
.
Child seat anchors! that's what those things are. i've been wondering that for years.
Nice practical install. Hope you don't use the heat often though.

all i listen to is at work is 63. I'm still debating XM or sirius. I mean Sirius I know the channels and all and I like the stuff they play but XM has Opie & Anthony.
ive got my g/fs just sitting onthe rear deck , and tinted windows , and she doesnt have any problems with hers
we have 2 sirrius units and 2 xm units
when i have the sirrius i listen to 15 through 23 the most
i actually perfer the rock on sirrius , over xm , but xm's comedy s alot better
