S/C 3800 Intercooler Install....

Hey guys, we got the intercooler all installed the other day. First off the car pulls like crazzy, 3rd and 4th gear are just unreal. I can't go over 1/2 throtle in 2nd now with out lighting up the tires. When we took the car out for a test drive we had it on the scanner. I am seeing no KR anywhere in the RPM range and I'm running a bit rich but that's ok. I did noctice some problems with it last night but I'll get into that after the pics. Here are the pics of the install...

The start...

The bottom side of the supercharger...

Me cleaning the coolant out of the upper intake manifold cause stupid me forgot to drain the coolant system before poping the supercharger off ...

The intercooler core itself, it is 1.91" think...

The intercooler core sitting on the upper intake manifold...

The two front mount coolers. We drilled and tapped the lower sub-frame to mount them...

The water pump was mounted to the passangers side strut tower, it was a little tight but we got it in there...

We had to cut some metal out from behind the passangers side head light to run the lines...

We had a small issue with the Altinator. The kit is suppose to come with a spacer to move the altinator up so that it will clear the fule rails. We didn't have those spacers so we made it work, with a little bending it fits fine. The water pump also clears the alt...

Here we're at the point of putting the supercharger back on, notice the injector spacers so that we can reuse the stock fuel rail...

The fill tube for the system with a pressure cap that drains back into the stock cooling system...

Here is everything buttoned back up...

Then it was onto swapping out the pulley. We had a very hard time pulling the old one off but we got it done. The new system is a quick change system that allows me to swap pullies with just an allan key...

Now to figure out how to make the hood clear. Since I had a spare hood and didn't want to take the time to make it look pretty I joined the rice team. I hate the look of it but I just wanted to drive the car so we kind of had a little fun with the die grinder. Don't worry it won't be staying like this

Now onto the problem that I noticed last night. The car didn't seam right when under boost, I popped the hood and say oil sparying off the belts. I have supercharger oil leaking from the snout. It looks like when we were pulling to old pulley off we used a bit too much heat and damaged the seal inside. I'm going to tear it down and replace the seal so for now the car is off the road again till I can get that done. Oh well I guess it's all part of the game. Also this was the first time I have had the car out since the winter so it's really dirty I still have a lot of work to clean everything up under the hood.

Very nice work! I'm so jealous that you can only go 1/2 throttle in 2nd, without breaking @!#$ loose. That must be amazing.

I do love the hood though!, and sorry about having to tear the S/C apart, @!#$ty.

Thanks for the compliments guys.

The engine should be making somewhere around 300whp now but I haven't had it on the dyno yet so no confirmed numbers. I'm also going to have some tuning done in TO the day before the bash so I will know for sure then.

We have a good idea of what we are going to do with the hood but thats all I'm going to say for now.

that's awesome. i remember back when you first posted pics of it. could you have done just the 2 front mount coolers without the one under the super so that you wouldn't have had to modify your hood?
