Well Just got this today, Vibrant hight flow Cat, magnaflow resignator, custom 2&1/4 Mandrel bend piping and Skunk2 Muffler and @!#$ it is laud, gota do something any sugguestion? I have taken the silencer out since the pics were taken, sound like @$$ with it in and obviously just added restriction again.
would adding another resignator help? already got one........
judgeing from the pics you will notice that the tip sticks out like 2in. sould i get it put in for its flush with the cut out in the lip? thats what I asked for but they said it would burn the lip....has anyone had this problem? parents say it looks fine just consentrate on making it not so laud........well let me know Thanks

move it back, if it doesnt touch any plastic, it shouldnt get hot enough to melt it. as for the sound... another resonator should tone it down a little, but i dunno...
@!#$ your parents.....make it louder !
lol jk btw...and it looks fine sticking out as much as it does....
move it back to make it flush. no part of the tip will be any closer to the plastic then it already is. when i got my vibrant exhaust i could smell plastic warming up, not really burning. i don't smell it any more and my bumber is not ruined. it will be fine.
New sig in the works
it shouldnt burn the lip, my miffler is mouted about 2 inches inward so that it doesnt look too tacky and its been that way for 2 years and I have never had a problem, It wouldnt be too hard to move it in if you know how to cut and weld. For the tone of your exhaust, i think maybe a longer resonator, maybe 24" would help keep it quiet. Looks great so far though, I plan on making my own exhaust similar to your set up this summer
kep up the good work
Yea, the guy at the shop showed me an integra that had the burn marks but that could have be because the actual metel part was touching for all i know.........so keep the resignator I got and add a 24" as well.
If got a muffler made for my car would it line up with the brackets the shop made? and would it have to be specifily for the ecotec or just cavalier in general?

A resonator will help. THe longer the better. I have a 29" resonator on mine.

TOO LOUD
Not possible. But as it goes with exhaust, what sounds good is subjective. Either way, I think the tip looks fine where it is, I wouldn't change it.

take the resonator off and buy a cherry bomb glass pack muffler (27" i think) from meijer and replace the current resonator with that.(yes i am serious.) it should quiet it down a lil bit and give you a nicer sound too.
youhave to undersatnd when I say laud I mean I WILL get pulled over for it. and dont like it. I cant really take a chance with the money to get a new muffler and it still not be good.......I am just going to get the stock muffler back on....yes I know I wasted my money gettingt he piping and now getting nothing out of it but its better then getting tickets....ill just have to get some power some other way and concentrate on some other things, Hood, koni yellow., RIMS/Tires
that being said, anyone interested in a Skunk2 muffler......paid 350+tax Canadian
