Hi all,
The odometer on my cluster is stuck on trip - so you can't see how many miles are actually on the car.
I am planning on selling right away, and have located one from a 2000.
Does anyone know if they are compatable?
Thanks
Brian
No, your 99 does not have a BCM in it for the 2000+ cluster.
~try this~
Slap the top of the dash to the right of the gauges. It might fix it. LOL

2000 plus is digital. 2000-2005 are interchangeable and 95-99 are interchangeable

not exactly. most 99s are digital too plus i believe there is a year you can change the 95-99 froms. you can only swap from cavalier to cavalier or sunfire to sunfire for the 95-99. 00+ like you mentioned are interchangable though
yeah they started that digital odometer in 99 on cav and sunfire
Did I mention I drive a 2000 Lumina now?-----wigm-tuners.org member
99 is about the only year where the cluster isn't interchangeable at all as far as I am aware. The design of the 99 is the older 95-98 style, but it has the digital odo like the 00-05 models. and the 00-05 models won't work with the early models either, so you can't update it either.
Cheers!!

wrong...my 98 had a digital odometer
^^^ yep, some of them did come with a digital odometer. im assuming it was a later part of the year deal...
You look so much cuter with something in your mouth.
Not that it matters, but mounting points for the cluster also vary between the 95-99 and 00+ dash.
my 98 has a digital odometer.
Were there some 99.5s that were wired for 00+ BCM's? I heard that rumor flying around once, but never confirmed it

Yes you can...... it'll only take a full interior harness out of a 00-05 J-body, cluster, BCM, Full dash assembly, Alot of beer, some more beer after that, and a couple of shot of tequilla. Once you wake up from having passed out, you'll forget you even had a problem with your cluster. You'll just try to figure out what the @!#$ are all the parts you have laying on the floor.
But in all seriousness cause the org is serious business
You can't even switch the cluster out anyway because you have no idea what the mileage is. Since in pre-00 clusters stored the mileage, and yours happens to be stuck on trip. I say smack the dash like Ike smacking Tina maybe that'll fix the trip problem
.... If not your @!#$ its as simple as that
