I'm doing a Z24 cluster swap in my 97 cavalier, and I want to know how to get the mileage counter out of the cluster without breaking it.
You have to disassemble the cluster.
Once you have the tin-foiled cardboard piece off,
carefully pry the circuit board up. Then you'll have access to the odometer. There are two screws from the back of the cluster and one from the front. Then you just unplug it and you've got it. I'm not completely sure since I'm going off the top of my head but that should be enough get you in the right direction.
It's really self-explanatory if you take it one step at a time.
ok thanks guys I got it swapped out, now I have a tach, it's awesome.
I have some concerns though on my old cluster, the blue light that comes on when you put your brights on, well that light comes on when I turn my regular headlights on, and when I have my brights on, the brights, light still stays on.
also my driving light display isn't working, and my E brake light, there's really nothing wrong with the cluster though, if you guys don't know what's up with it, I guess I can get used to it.
