Without trying to sound lazy, I have tried to search though several old archives to find any info on this idea. It may be an impossible dream, but here it is. I ran into a totaled 07 Chevy Cobalt LS for next to nothing. I was playing with the idea of swapping the dashboard into my 98 sunfire gt. Yes, I know that the tach and most of the electronics will not transfer (although I am giving serious thought to purchasing an ecotec motor and swapping it in). The rough measurements that I have taken seem close enough (cobalt is deeper than the sunfire dash). However, has anyone tried this yet? If so, what major issues (or minor for that matter) will I run into for trying such a conversion?

On a side note, I finally got my hands on an 01 sunfire center console (but an automatic....bummer). I ended up fabricating and modified the bracketing from the 01 sunfire to cope with my 98 sunfire shifter housing. Quite pleased with how it ended up.
