wet floor carpet?
Thursday, March 13, 2008 5:04 AM
I bought a set of diamonplate floor mats before winter and kept them in during winter. As you all know, they dont hold water and I live in maine. My floor carpet is like always wet. Should I be worried? Winter is like a month from getting over. When all the snow is gone for good, I plan on ripping all the carpet and seats out and going through with a good cleaning. Am I alright or should I dry it out asap? they arent soaked. I try to vacume as much water as I can.

any moisture is bad. if your carpet is wet you should really try to dry it asap. if it sits long enough it can start the process of rusting and you dont want that.

I think on the back of the carpet is rubber, so it won't go right to the bare metal underneath. Correct me if i'm wrong though. Just get a wet/dry vacuum and suck up what you can, and get some winter floor mats. When ever I get in a car in the winter time, I kick my feet on something as im getting in to knock off the snow.
