Ok guys I kind of screwed up a little bit. I took the needles off my gauges(without marking the position) and now I am off on my MPH and my RPM.
I am only off on my MPH by about 5 miles, but the RPM are off by a little more. Does anyone know what the RPM's are supposed to be at when the car is idling? I need to reset the needle. Also my gas gauge needle came off when I took the other needles off. I have an idea as to how to fix that one, let the car get low on gas and put the needle where it is supposed to go.
Well anyone have any better ideas. I am getting frustrated and about to cry, you guys don't want to see a grown man cry do you?

yea i did the same thing but i remembered what the rpms were my 97 cavi runs at about 600 rpms idleing and the mph thing is off because you put the needle on the line right below the 10 mph mark but actually that the 5 mph mark not the 0 so just try to go as far down you can go before snapping the needle back on thats what i did
here's a pic

good luck getting everything correct. id just get a new cluster and save yourself the headache
for your gas gauge, i think it might be more accurate if you just go to a gas station and fill up the tank until it wont take any more...then attach the need right at the gas station (if possible) so the needle points to full, as opposed to a lesser accurate guess you suggested. it is just easier to tell when the tank is full because the nozzle will click off when it is full when you are filling up
good luck with fixing your RPM's

have you ever noticed when your at a complete full tank that when you start your car, your needle goes past full a bit?
this is what you do, I have done it several times and all ok
Take the needles of the RPM and MPH, turn the pin all they way to the left, put needles back on at zero. Not saying this is the correct way, put worked on the 2001, 2002,2005(2) gauges I have played with. Other then that, just go to junkyard and get one. I have 2 for sale if interested

I will try that, and I may have to ask about one of the two you have for sale. Thanks.
