Looks like I'll be getting a name for dumb questions

I assume its not a good idea to drive with your dash off,
But can you drive(say 15 mins to work) if you took your center console(between seats) out to paint?
I have a 5-speed.
I'm working everynight for the next 3 weeks.
I want to paint my center console(between seats) but I have to drive to work.

Or should I just wait till I have some nights off?

lol...i was transporting my car from my parents garage to my house when i first bought the house.....so i started tearing down the car there thinking i could get it back together in time.

not only that, but i had no front or rear bumpers on, hood was sitting way up, plates hanging from zip ties, and while i was driving to my house, the bucket tipped and i was sitting on the floor and couldnt see @!#$. thought i was good as done, lmao.

luckily only had to go 4 miles or so.

As Joey so entertainingly put, its safe to drive w/ no dash and no console. Just be careful not to get anything pinched near the shifter assembly though (skin wise)

^ lol, you're not alone Joey. I did pretty much the same thing 3 years ago. No interior at all, no bumpers or skirts or a hood. I used a milk crate and took the car around the block for a spin

but to answer your question...as long as you have a seat, and a seat belt it is okay to drive. Sure it won't look pretty, but who cares, it will once you install everything once again.
