I need to do some fiberglassing out front of my house (because I need to make molds in the car, in my driveway)
My neighbors are within a few feet of my house, so I'll ask them permission and tell them about the fumes and such. But I'd like to reduce the smell as much as I can, is there a different method of mixing that does that?
Nope. The fun of glassing comes with the smell.
the fumes are gonna be horribly bad for your neighbors?
what kind are you using?
Oh, I'm sure they won't be HORRIBLE, maybe enough to stick to their clothes when they leave the house.
I just want to cut down on the smell, courtesy and such.
BTW, I'm just using Bondo fg.
I wouldn;t worry about the fumes as much as the dust when you sand it. I just try to do my sanding when the nieghbors are not around or not outside. Otherwise, I just workin my garage or backyard.

Yeah, sanding shouldn't be an issue. I think I might try building a 5'x5'x'5 more-or-less sealed 'booth' to work in, just because their front door is literally 10 feet away.
Didn't get to work today, just completely wiped. So I'll have to put it off a bit longer >:[
LOL, for your neighbors to smell the resin from another house away is rediculous, let alone the smell sticking to their close. Is you neighborhood enclosed in a small bubble? lol.
yea, the FG smell isnt tha strong.....
or maybei just got used to it already lol
ehh, i shot 3 coats of primer on my car in my garage/driveway yesterday....reaked horribly, lol. but didnt have any issues. i wouldnt worry too much about it. its not like fiberglassing is illegal.
they make bubble gum scent

Guess it's not as bad as I remember :\ Though I'm used to doing it indoors.
Just get some big fans and blow it somewhere else...it'll go faster than just drifting...
i've done it inside an apartment before, and the smell wasn't even that bad. your neighbors will be fine.
