Just wondering how or what you need to do in order to be able to roll the rear windows all the way down in a sedan??????????
I have a 98 sunfire sedan and theyonly roll down half way in the back doors, i guess its a child safety feature; i just want to be able to roll my windows all the way down in the hot summer days, and it looks cool, lol.
Anyone know how to make my windows go all the way down in the back, pleas help......
Thanks.........

If it's like the cavys then just pop off the door pannel and then pull back the plastic sheild thingy and you will see two bolts down to the bottom attached to a styrofoam block, take those bolts out pull out foam block put door back together repeat for other side and VIOLA!!! I did it to my wifes 05 LS SPORT sedan and it took me like 10 minutes.
Awesome thanks 05cavalierbarkln3rd, wow that is long to type, lol
Sounds easy enough, will try her out this coming weekend.......

Yeah it's not hard at all...Good luck and you'll love it my wife does!!!
I still need to do this, but I never have anyone back in the rear on the Sedan that want windows down.
I never have anyone in the back either of my car but it would still be nice to cruise around in the summer with all the windows down

Its definately an eye catcher, if you know that most sedan windows don't actually roll all the way down. Even in my 92 blazer, the back windows don't roll all the way down, I removed the rear-window "stoppers" if you will, about a year ago and I'll tell you its the best mod I think i've done. I love being able to roll the windows all the way down.

Yes, eye cather; thats what i want; the subtle little things that only j owners might know; but it helps at shows or what have you; man i cant wait to do this to my car.....

ditto. my car came stock that way.
I did a how-to with pictures for this a while back.
i remember that. it was a great write up also.
Yeah your write up is how I remembered how to do it, it should have been a sticky.
Damm i could use that write up; i might try and do my rear windows this weekend if we dont get snow; but we are suppose to,lol......

terry just do it in the snow haha should take no more then 30min
Not a bad idea resurrected j lol; i might do it in the snow; i clean my car and vacum her all year around; so this should not be too bad, lol; only calling for 20cm then changing to freezing rain, niceee....
Thanks everyone for the help...

In order to remove the door panel did you guys have to take off the window cranks, and the arm rest before removing the pannel?
Funny thing is i removed my window cranks before and paintted them, today i was going to trty and do the pannels to make the windows in the back go all the way down, i could not even get the window cranks off, i used a rag before to hook them, i will try again tommorow...

The window cranks do need to come off, but the arm rests don't.
But the screws in the door handle where it meets the arm rest
do.

i DID this mod today, worked out great.......
I did the following in order:
Rolled window down as far as it goes
Removed window crank useing a rag and a flathead screwdriver
Removed plastic insert trim piece around the door lock.
Removed the two 7mm bolts that are in the arm rest/door handle.
Pulled out and down on the door panel to take pannel off.
Took out the two 10mm bolts holding the styrofoam and metal plate in
Rolled window all the way up
Removed styrofoam by pulling up and out.
Door panel back on putting the top part of the pannel on fisrt makingsure its snug against the frame by the window.
Bolts back in the arm rest.door handle.
Window crank back on without the pin so its easier for it to come off next time if need be.
Put plastic insert trim piece around door lock back on
FINISHED.........
Thanks alkatmsu for finding the write up and every one else for your help......
