hey guys ...was just looking at the space where the passenger side airbag goes..im about to remove it when i re-vinyl the dash..what i WANT to do is place a 5-7" screen under there that im able to motorized to make it go up and down and use the dash airbag cover as a screen cover...am i making any sense? like,itll look like a regular dash then hit the button and the airbag cover raises up and so does the screen that was under it...but ive never worked with any kind of motor like that before.....anyone have any ideas what i could use to start this project?? thanks
I definitely see what you're talking about. I had the same idea when I started glassing mine. Kind of late in my case. Anyway, It wouldn't take a large motor. Something to move a few small gears. You probably take an Erector set and do it cheaply haha. But, seriously, if you come up with anything; I'd like to see.

you can do it with some actuators fairly easy, or they also have small TV lifts that should work.

Thats how mine is. But you have to hinge its top so the monitor folds in horizontal in the closed position. You must have seen the red drift car in CA&E a few months ago.

when you take the top dash apart threre are about 4 bolts on each of the underside of the airbag cover on a
somewhat metal hinge, i don't have a pic to show ya, but just unscrew those and it comes up
and like Grimor said, some actuators would probably work best and it would help with clearance if you were to
disable the airbag and remove it
wheres the best place to get one of these actuators? radio shack? ill head down there tonight and see what i can find..thanks!
