ok so i went to summit yesterday and got 2 neons and a toggle switch. so today i started to hook it all up. i mounted the neons and ran the wires to the center consel where i mounted my toggle. and instead of routing everything and finding that something is wrong i just ran it all to the toggle with out hiding them. so i got em all hooked up and they didnt come on. so after fiddling with grounds and god knows what, i tested it with a test light. it got power to the switch but not leaving it. then it hit me. the damn swith is bad! so i hard wired it right to a + and a - and sure enough they came on. i hate it when this crap happens.
