ps.. i have no clue how to fiber glass so no one tell me to do that lol
i also apologize for being a retard and askin about this... its probly really easy but i have no clue
you have 2 options, 1 being fiberglass(which is really easy, FYI) or 2 drill it out, and put a button or switch there.
Or 3, a couple people put a guage there... I saw pics of it in the Photos forum, can't remember what the thread title was though.
Here's a
Fiberglassing Tutorial for ya
hmm................This gives me a sweet idea.....If i rip out the cig lighter, you think you can put a "START" button in there? How do you do a start button anyways....
Same way as remote starters work (not the keyfob remote, but ones where you jump the battery to the starter and hit a button... more so when you are working under the hood)
Run a
fused hot from the battery, to a momentary push button switch able to withstand the starter amperage, to the starter.
Or, use a relay. I'll draw up something this evening and post it up when the forum comes back online.
Nice,
I have no idea what you said lol so youll have to show a diagram like you said and explain some of these technical terms.

Here's some instructions (with pics)... not for a Cavi/Sunfire, but the concept is the same. Pics are interior shots of a Miata, but since they have the lighter in about the same spot as Cavi's, it's a good approximation.

Anyone that is familiar w/ the wiring harnesses care to ID the correct wires to use when installing?
I used this hole for my nitrous activation switch. Cut out a stainless steel "circle" slightly bigger than the opening, polished it to chrome and drilled a hole for the switch in the center. Put the plate behind the opening and once the switch is tightened down, it's in the securely and doesn't move.
