What is a good method of painting the inside panels??
It's really your choice as to how much time & money you want to invest in your interior. You can just use krylon fusion with minimal prep work and have to repaint most thing's two or three time's a year or fiberglass the panel's, or take your time sand the panel's, prep, primer, & paint with automotive paint to match your car.

Ok, I know the topic of painting interior panels has been covered a lot, I have searched. I was wondering the best way to make them smooth. I have seen all of the start out with 40 or 80 grit sandpaper and work your way up, I have tried all that. It seems to take a VERY long time to get smooth though. I would like to know if there is any special trick to it. Any type of special sander or what, so that It doesn't take 4-5 hours to get about a square foot near smooth. Also I want to fiberglass some panels that I am changing, If I were to use the same paint I use on fiberglassed panels that I used on sanded plastic panels would it be a noticeable difference? Sorry if it has been posted, but I searched all over this site and the web, and as I said, all I could find is the same with maybe little difference in wording, start out with 40 - 80 grit paper and work up. Maybe im doing it wrong, but that will take FOREVER... Thanks.
I did my interior with spray paint. I started out using the Krylon stuff but it just didn't seem to make that much of a difference compared to the cheap paint. Take out all of the panels you can to paint them outside of the car and the ones you can't, just mask everything off and paint them inside with the doors open. (and a dust mask doesn't hurt- if you pass out when you're painting that will ef it up) It's good to clean them off with dishsoap first and a little sanding but that's not always nessecary, just do alot of light coats and let them dry completely each time. Then put clear coat on them.
