ok ive been painting my driver side door panel and ive went through almost 6 of these already and all the junkyard around here are now cleared out. of so all of em ive tried on ive failed. and this one here was actually looking well. until my dog decided it was goi\ng to invite some friends over and run all over the top of it.
its got some deep place straight through the primer and all. and i was wondering if there was a way i could remove the paint clear coat and primer and restart cause this is my last chance at this. thanks guys.
If you're trying to keep the stock texture then you're pretty much screwed I think.
If not, just sand it down and spray it again.
Honestly... if you can't figure out how to sand it then maybe this isn't the project for you.
Just get some somewhat fine sandpaper, maybe 400 grit to start, then up to 800 grit before painting again... and sand it down. Use the mouse sander, or a block, or your hands, or whatever works for you.
I say get out the 200 grit then work your way up to 400 grit
then 800. I redone my drivers side door panel like 3 times
before i got it right. Oh and if you are using a mouse sander
it should be easier. I sanded my entire interior by hand, but
mine is almost flawless.
how deep is deep?
if youre planning on redoing it, again, what about the other ones that got messes up, do they have deep scratches on them?

if its primer deep, just resand the spot, just make sure you don't burn a hole.... (not literarly), and just lightly resand the rest of it, since as a beginer you will have problems blendidng paint, and i would not recomnd trying that. I won't even do it...

It depends on how much pressure you put on it. If you work your way up with
the grit gradually it should come out ok. Like I said I redid mine 3 times
before getting it right. Try doing some sanding by hand on some of the problem
spots. You get more control over it that way.
