Where do I get a steering wheel puller, and is there an alternative?
Any place that sells automotive tools should sell them.
Might as well use the right tool for the job. They're not expensive.
another way of gettin it off is losen the steering wheel center nut so that about 1mm of it sticks past the threads
i-----------------------------i nut
l l l l
l _____l l_____ l
l l
l l <------ thread
then while one person pulls back on the streeting wheel has hard as they can, someone has to hit the nut HARD with a hammer
might take a couple hits but this has always worked for me and it has NOT wrecked the nut or threads yet....
Autozone has one available with their Loan-A-Tool program.

thats what i did, is use the Discount Auto Parts store, in their parking lot, pulled it enough that its free, put the nut back on, hand tightening it, and drove it home... this way i didn't have to pay for nothin.....
wait for it... wait for it... NOW GO!! ---> '02 LS Sport <---

never try to hammer the center which works in chevy trucks. it takes alot more force
my dad made a steering wheel puller out of bronze
