Installing Gauge Overlay/Tapping Dimmer Switch

Ok... the search function on this board blows........

anyways, my awesome girlfriend bought me a set of Speedhut gauges for my birthday, and before I attempt the install, I was just wondering what wire should I tap the positive into? I want the gauges to turn on with the headlights/parking lights just like they normally do. Also, what's the best way to remove the dash? i know theres bolts in the glovebox, but other then that I'm clueless.

Once again, the search function sucks.

thanks!

to remove dash......
first remove your fuse cover......
then the big piece that holds the fuse cover just snaps right off, same on the other side......
in there are those torques bit screws..... also you can use a socket.....
then....... if you open your glove box.......
if you look at the top egde........ there are two more torques......
inside the box, at the top, theres ahole....... there you should find two goldish colored bolts...... i belive 7mm
then if you look at where you defroster vent is........ there is one philips screw, once you pop that off..... there are two more torques bits....
well so far you have removed every thing that holds the dash in...... now you just have to pop it off...

It's easier than your Corsica man...

Check at the Main Library Section, there is a step by step guide to remove the dash

I actually just ran the power wire to a fuse in the fuse box. As long as the car is running, the gauges are on, but hell you can't even tell in bright daylight that they're on... so it doesn't bother me that they're always on. I couldn't figure out the correct way to run the wires...screw all that "tappin' into" stuff... just run that sucker to a fuse in the fuse box (preferably one that has to do with power while engine running). Good luck dude.

I actually figured out it was the Grey wire from the dimmer. Thanks though

Well hang on...I have renewed interest, LOL. So you say the grey wire controls the dimmer, and you tapped that... and so obviously that grey wire runs power?

Yeah, it has power. The stock dimmer also turns down the gauges after i tapped that.
