fusions on dash is tacky......
Monday, August 08, 2005 7:12 PM
I used the gloss white fusions on my dash and it is tacky. It has been in my car for two weeks. Why is it like that? The paint isn't coming off, just seems sticky. Also what kind of clear has anyone/everyone used over there fusions. Every clear I try makes the fusions orange peel. And I can't find the low odor clear that everyone talks about...What else can I clear with? Thanks in advnce, JAY

sorry man, best ? to ask now is probably how to get the paint off so you can start over and dye it or glass it.

just get another pad from the junker and be patient.

What part of the dash did you paint? You can only use the Fusion on the plastic parts like the bezel, vents, air bag cover, etc. The rest of the dash is covered with vinyl and the Fusion won't adheire to that.

you will have to use some sort of vinyl dye on the dash unless your talking about the lower part.

yup. the top dash pad, top main part of the door panels and the center console armrest all should be dyed instead of painted.

Hit up a fabric shop and get some white vinyl. Thats what I did for my headliner, front and rear dash. Also get some 3M super 90 adhesive and you'll be good to go.

Well, I did use the fusions on the upper dash. OOOPPPS.. But good news is, I got a whole car given to me today. So I will just have to take the dash out and dye it. I guess. Thanks for the info, Jay
