my '03 cavalier was broken into earlier today and absolutely $0 of it is covered by insurance. so, everything is out of pocket expenses. with that in mind, how much can i expect to pay a dealership or bodyshop to fix the console? the aftermarket stereo i had is long gone but i help onto my factory one. i'll need that console peice and i could probably install it myself.
anyone have any clue what sort of price range i could expect?
thanks in advance.

thanks dude, i hadn't even thought of checking ebay.
i really appreciate that.

no problem dude. ebay has been the cheapest place i could find parts. good luck.
Peace Out!!!
i'll check my local junkyard tomorrow, but mostly they have 99 and below cars, but if they have a 2000+ i'll pick it up for you

I would just go the local wreckers and pickup a new bezel.
That's what I did when my stereo was stolen.
Most places will charge you very little if you yank it yourself.
Installing it on your own is easy. Even if you move slowly, it shouldn't take
more than 20 minutes to complete the swap.
You'll save money on labour and will learn a little about your car by doing the
work yourself. Even if you're not mechnically inclined, you can't fatally screw up
anything. (unless you jab a screwdriver into your airbag or something, LOL).
Sorry to hear about your luck btw.

well... you can always do insurance fraud...when my car got broken into this guy who car club i was in also happen to own a body shop, so he wrote me up an invoice saying that i had a clarion 7" flip out, 2 MA Audio competition subs and a concept 1500watt amp....but what i really had was a sony xplode head unit, one MTX 15'in 500 watt sub, and a autotex 500 watt amp which everything cost about 400 dollors total. well with the fake invoice i received $2500 from the insurance company and bought everything that was on the fake invoice.... now my system is one of the hardest hitting systems ive every heard

oh, and if the cops (FBI?) want to know any more info, I'm sure Charter Communications can bring up billing info and a home address for yellowscorpion@charter.net if they ask nicely.

That sucks huge! Happened to me last winter. Except i didnt even have a stereo, just a flashy car with dark tints.
But at least they didnt make a mess with glass. I know thats no concellation at all, but I sitll find peices of glass in little corners in side my car because the losers shattered mine.

don't push the blame on the club prez.. think for yourself. most of us work very hard to get what we've got, and i must say i also am pissed off knowing that some people paid for your fake system. buy your own shtuff and do it right.
also agreed, don't flaunt it, period.
