Its free, takes 10 minutes. Simply remove the rear door panels, and take out the styrofoam block.

theres a bolt or 2 at the bottom of the door...if you roll down the window while your panel is off, you will see where it hits, and when it stops....its not that hard...

Is this safe to do on a car with power windows? Just wondering because I'd like to do it to my mom's Sunfire Sedan, but I don't want to wreck anything. Thanks.

When you take off your inside door panel you wil lsee 3 bolts below the hole.

2 of these bolts are the same, 1 is an odd one out.

Remove the 2 bolts that are the same.

The styrofoam block you are removing is inside the door, and can now be removed through the hole above.

Done.

^^ Did it on my '00 cavy with manual windows.

I ahve a bit of a question on this myself...

When I did this, my rear windows literally go ALL the way down, like below the black window seal thing, and are not visible at all. Now, the front ones still stick up about a quarter inch or so, and jab me in the elbow when I put my arm out the window. Is there a way to make the front windows go ALL the way down, past teh seal?

Sandstorm: I have a 2 door, but I can relate to your window jabbing your arm. My drivers side doesn't go past the gasket/seal, but my passenger side clears it. Weird.

I did the same to my 4-Door... added power windows, removed the block while I had the door panel off, now the back windows go all the way down (as mentioned) I have noticed they go futher down than the front... maybe I'll look into the front going all the way down because I still have my driver side door panel off...

I just finished doing this to my mom's '98 Sunfire Sedan with power windows. Man does it look so much better with all four windows all the way down. And best of all, you can't beat a free mod that takes only five minutes to do.

Also, I just thought I would share that her rear windows do not go all the way down, they stick up the same as the front ones do. Oh well, now all the windows are even .
