Need ANYONES suggestions of what's wrong??

I put in gauges in my buddies sunfire(00)..and slipped them over the needles. WHen i plugged the cluster back into the system I heard all the needles take power so I knew everything was good. WHEN I TURNED THE CAR ON the FACTORY lights don't work for the needles or the trip/odometer. DOES ANYONE KNOW WHAT'S WRONG OR IF ITS FIXABLE?..or am I gunna have to have him buy a new cluster? ALL the other lights on the outside of the cluster work like abs and seatbelt and what not..but not the middle ...the needles work..EVERYTHIN WORKS but hte factory lighting of the needles and the trip meter...PLEASE HELP?!!!!!!!????

Push the plug down hard on the connector thats on the top of the cluster.

ok..the pins glow up now too...
but the odometer still doesn't

..its just blank..but its like its not getting a light..yet when the sun relects off it right you can see that the #'s are there...just not lit up

slam the top of the dash if its back on, my cav did that and i hit it and no problems since, if the dash is off push down on the gauge cluster make sure its seated all the way into the dash.
