96 cavalier 2.4
alright... im putting a sunfire cluster into my cavalier.... both have mechanical odometers ( NON digital)
how do i change the odemeter so that it reflects the correct mileage
no idea. i didnt think the pre 00 clusters would swap anyway. i bought a cluster from a 97 fire to put in my 97 z and they werent even the same size.

just swap the milage tumblers. if you take apart the cluster you will see how it all works.

correct. i replaced my cluster w/ another cav cluster since there was something wrong w/ it. once you get it out. take the back piece off and then you'll see like 4 more screws by the tumbler. it just comes right out. take it out and put in the new one. make sure the little gears are lined up and screw it back it. its really easy. took me about 2 mins to swap
Also, he's doin a Sunfire interior swap, not just clusters
question, would it be possible to swap a 95-99 sunfire cluster with a 00 + sunfire cluster?
i know the 00+ has a digital odometer, but i was just wondering if i could just replace that with the 95-99 tumbler. it seems like it would work to me, unless the wiring was completely different on the 00+ cars.

Dave is right
the reason im asking this is because i have a sunfire interior going into my cav
thank you for the input all
ill just swap the tumblers and call it a day
I don't think that it will work. I was going to try and put a 99 cavalier cluster into my 99 sunfire and the pin settings are different. The cav had a 12 pin plug while the sunfire had an 11 pin plug. I don't know about the earlier years but thats the problem that I've run into.
