Remove dash / air bag go off?

Hey guys so im starting to paint my interior but i have a question about the air bag. when i remove my dash do i have to disable it and if so how? Do i need to disconnect the battery? Any saftey tips (or tips in general ) will be helpful. I dont wanna get hit in the face by my air bag

Just don't touch the bag and you'll be fine, pull the dash up and toward yourself.

chances are good it wont go off, when ever i strip the dash i usually pull the neg on the battery and pull the airbag fuse. takes 30 seconds, and better safe then sorry.

air bag computer is beneath your passenger seat... nothing to worry about, but disconnect the battery to be safe, there are plenty of hot wires behind the dash and 13.8 VDC is a little startling

@ sndsgood: If I just pull the negative cable off the battery will I have to worry about entering the radio code when I reconnect the cable or no? Just wondering because my radio code was programmed by the dealer and I am too lazy to call there and find out what the code is

if your radio has a code you'd most likely have to enter the code, unless there is a battery backup in the radio wich i highly doubt.
