door panel removal
Saturday, April 09, 2005 1:31 PM
i searched, and i got my answers..so i thought...but when i got out there to tear the door out, i looked at the window cank, and i don't see any "clips"...all i see is a plastic crank thats connected to a metal rod behind it. i used a crow bar, an it gave way some, but i wasn;t sure how much pressure to use...the black crank never budged...but the metal thing pulled out some. I can't figure out how to get this derned crank off...i tried the rag thing....what i did was pull that rag under and around the crank, then pulled outwards, but no luck.....i almost ripped the rag...should i just be pulling harder, or what? I have a 96 Sunfire 2door....i know i'm just not understanding the instructions right..does anyone have any pictures, or some tips?" i don't have the cash for that damned GM tool...

Can't really see the C-clip,but it is there, I didn't believe it at first either lol...just keep shimming the rag around and eventually the C-clip should pop off..its just a matter of getting the rag in the right spot.
Keep trying you'll get it

1.) pull the lever and look inside the lever to see the clip. just grab a thin allen key and poke one side out

2.) it should come out a little on that side so you can fit the key in the loop part of the clip and just pull the clip out and the handle should either fall out or come out easy

3.) dont loose the clip or you CANT stick it back on without buying/stealing another clip for it.
to store it, put the clip back into the handle (thats what you supposed to do before you put it back in anyway)
