Quick question about vinyl
Thursday, February 10, 2005 2:34 PM
I have been doing my interior for about 2 weeks or so, I put vinyl on my door pannel on the map pockets and arm rest, I am wrapping the dash, and did the rear speaker shelf, but my question is, can I put vinyl over any plastic, or will it not stick, I was going to paint the bottom half of the dash but I think it would look better vinyl, any help would be nice, also Im using M90

Yeah M90 should hold it. You spray a little on the plastic and then a little on the back of the vinyl, wait a bit and then put it on.
The thing with putting it on the lower door panel is that it gets kicked a lot.

Just my opinion but wrapping the bottom part of the dash in vinyl would be a big job. Even a bigger job to pull it off and it actually look good.

I'm not saying that you couldn't do it but I would definitely recommend painting the lower parts of the dash and the lower door panels.

good chance that on a extremly hot day the glue will lose its hold with m90. your best bet is on a high temp vinly glue.

I live in PA, and on average in the summer it gets to be about 85-90. is that what you would call extemely hot?

I am doing my entire interior in vinyl and need to it to hold, I though that the m90 was the strongest made?

all depends. 90 degrees, then in an enclosed car can push it above 110 deg. or more

m90 is by no means the strongest adhesive available. it might be the stronged that 3m has. i'm not sure what temperature the m90 is capable of withstanding. but i know the high temp heat glue goes up to around 250deg. wich will stand the hottest arizona summers.
