Hey folks, just like the thread title say's. I had my dash bezel fiber glassed. Costed me $150 total but was well worth it. I have been wanting to do this for like almost 10 years now.
Basically I am moving the cd player to the A/C vent location and the plan is to mount the boost controller and turbo timer next to the dimmer switch... Obviously the Bezel needs to have a few finishing touches but for the most part it is ready to be painted. What do you all think?
looks decent, get it painted!

I just picked it up about 45 minutes ago LOL. I am going to take it to the speed shop and allow them to mount gauges to it and the boost controller and turbo timer. Once it gets to the body shop it will be sprayed to match the exterior. Thinking maybe House of Kolors Oriental Blue with a Platnium pearl. Should match my Recaro Lancer EVO VIII seats nicely.
They use the factory bezel as a plug and make a mold for this one?
They incorporate the same mounting points?

This is a factory Bezel laid with fiber glass and resin not a molding....
Sprayed it with primer....

Well no not really lol.
The car will be street driven but race inspired. Wanna know more read here
Turbo build thread
I just don't feel the need for anything beyond a radio and boost controller
Here is exactly what I have in mind minus color...

I think it looks silly with all that empty space in the radio/hvac area.

Well to each their own... The original idea was to have a few gauges and a switch panel but since I decided to ditch the nitrous setup I have kind of eliminated the nead for a switch panel. Maybe in the future I will add a LCD screen or Navigation unit but for now I like it the way it stands in the design its different.
Maybe a pocket under the deck? Just something to fill the space.
I might be biased though
Love the Alpine setup man. I use to have a full setup in my car 2 Type R 12's, 2 V12 Amps, Type R 6.5"s in the doors, 1" tweeters, Type R 6x9's in rear deck and a CDA-9883
Still got the little alpine stickers in my rear window panes
im on the fence i wanna like it but i would of put ( my own personal choice) the boost controller and turbo timer underneath the alpine head unit but i will wait till its installed
RIP JESSE GERARD.....Youll always be in my thoughts and prayers...
I like the idea of the boost controller and turbo timer side by side under the head deck and swapping side's with the gauge...
Was kind of leaning towards having a design or something airbrushed on the bezel. I saw a really cool Transformers theme on some one's hood of their Honda last night and it gave me an idea to do like some eye's lurking in the shadows and maybe like some robot hands breaking through on each side... Kind of like an unleash the beast persona.. just an idea though.
When I get home I will play with Photoshop some more.

Not to thread jack or anything but how hard was it to wire in the digital HVAC from the Kia?
"Oil Leak ? What oil Leak ? Oh, Thats Just The Sweat From All The HorsePower!!"
About 60 wires running throughout the vehicle, not so hard if you can get your hands on the schematic. Some creativity to convert vacuum controlled position to electric. Modifying the kia temp motor to mate up with our temp lever. And I have still yet to get the transistor working for fan speed.
It was a pretty big project. Some details are in the last pages of "Brad's Project Thread" in audio & electronics forums.
looks nice, not my type of deal, but looks nice!
/thumbs up To each their own!
