Manual mirror handle removal?

Im curious how to remove the handle on the inside for the drivers side mirror adjustment. I want to put some tweeters in in the mirror sail when I get my new component sets and the handle is in the way.

That shows how to get the mirror out, but not sure about taking that little piece off. Guess you can pull them and see.
