ok so i live in ontario canada and went to check out the coverlay, well I can enter canada but when i enter ontario it wont let me, has anyone ever got something from them in ontario?
what the heck are you talkin about lol
lmao ok I was looking at getting that cavalier piece by the dash that coverlay offers, I went on the site and tried to order one but when they asked where I lived it would only let me fill in Canada, teh when it asked what state/province, I wanted to put ontario, but there were canadian provinces available to select and I cant type it in, so now I am waiting to hear from coverlay themsleves to why I cant order one, I was asking if anyone has gotten one from them before lol...phew
Links generally help.....
Order it thru Howell Automotive here
http://www.howellautomotive.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=2059
Its cheaper than Coverlay, the shipping is cheaper yet it is directly dropped shipped from Coverlay.
I just got mine a week ago - I went with the dark gray and it is still a little light but Colorbond GM Graphite 651 is the perfect color interior spray for a match.
Hope this helps

good lord... a hundred bucks? scrap yard dude....
ok.. wait.. scratch that... what exactly am i looking at? is that not a stock piece?
on first glance it appears to be the back part of the dash closest to the windshield.. but the description is throwing me off...
it's for people with cracked dashes. They just put this thing over top instead of pulling out the whole dash assembly and replacing it.

that helps alot actually, lol, I am just waiting now for my shipping quote from coverlay. They replied to my email about the shipping so now im just waiting for the quote, Its only 114 or something like that right now right from coverlay, so if the shipping is crazy retarded I will go with howellautomotive for sure, thanks for the info
I have my dash out and was gonna just fg it back together, but I figure if I get the coverlay as I can send that to get CF wrapped to match the rest of the interior lol
also does anyone have any pictures of the coverlay installed ? how does it fit?
I do not have pics of it installed however it fits perfect.
Once you have it installed wad up newspaper across the front of the inside of the windshield and the Coverlay piece to put pressure on the silicone adhesive to help it adhere. Thats the only thing I could find that applied pressure on the area due to the akward angle.
FYI - shipping from Coverlay was over 30 bucks to Pittsburgh, PA - it was $12 to PA thru Howell which is why I went with them. The piece was available thru Coverlay at a 10% discount thru December 31st but with shipping it was $140 ish. Thru Howell, when all said and done, it was around $110.

hmm maybe I will just go through howel instead thanks alot if you ever get a pic post it up would ya is there a little bit of play if I were to get it CF wrapped? thanks again

thats what was confusing. lol but i get it now. sometimes you can catch it on ebay though. alot easier then pulling out your dash.

The piece has enough play to wrap in CF BUT if you had it wrapped it wouldnt sit flush with the dash pad as it does now. Once you wrap it, a few mm will be added and it would probably appear higher than the dash pad when installed. Not 100% sure though thats just my guess.

you dont need to pull out the dash lol it is a piece that is attached to teh existing one that is broken held on with 3m tape
Actually held on with silcone.
Off the subject, where in Ontario you at? I have been up that way a few times for WEMF in Orangeville and Bobcaygeon. Made a pit stop in St. Caths to pick up some festival goers along the way.
Right place, wrong time, right person, wrong situation
festival goers? I live in the festival capitol of the world lol Stratford lmao how often do you come up this way ?
now could you not get the piece like that from a sunfire dash? just cut the tabs off and silicone it in place?... that would be a lot cheaper no?
my girlfriends 01 cav has the cracked dash and i just happen to have the sunfire piece with a couple tabs broken off that i took off my car... i may just have to attempt it one day
Which piece are you talking about?

ah alright... eh it was worth a shot
well if your still looking for a fix... i found this on ebay.
ok!! so this piece IS exactly what i thought it was at the beginning of the thread... lol...
stop being lazy and replace it with a junkyard piece... god... haha.. i've had my dash apart and yeah its a PITA, but surely worth the $100+ that ur gonna pay to just cover a broken part...
you CANT replace it with a junkyard piece it is part of the dash, its not like the sunfire one where it is removeable!! GAWD reading owns you
that statement would imply you or anyone else actually wrote that previously.. making @!#$ up owns me i guess..
I find it hard to believe it doesnt come out as every other piece of the dash does, but i wont really question it if you know better (honestly)...
however you can understand where i would be mistaken on this.. People are paying $400 for a bloody CF rad cover or 300 on cf door sills... lol.. i figured this was just another example of ppl willing to shell out money instead of do a little work..
