ive heard of people being able to relocate them to the glove box without changing any vac lines. I guess theyll reach if you route them properly.
I have heard that it will and it wont...but more it will's......Like I said, I seen that one posted on GMscf and it was in the center console...forget whose it was....I may do that too...I'm doing something....I'll give it a shot tomorrow in the glove box and see what happens.....If it works I'll post a pic...thanks,Spencer.....Love the car by the way...still want to smooth the rear on mine

i plan on moving mine to the console. But that might change lol, im also about to embark on glassing this spring. Hell theres someone around here that put the heater controls where the defroster vent is. Thanks for the kind words btw
Too high for my taste...gonna set a few much need gauges the...mold them in at an angle for drivers clear viewing...i have to get..or atleast figure out what size gauges im using and figue out how big to make the holes......im blocking off my vents there...could actually shave all but the defrost..never use them..never will...Yw...I love ur car...vert,white on white, bagged, shaved and clean.....NICE !!!

Personally i want to put them in the glove box. But whichever one you want to do you can do. To each his own. I plan on putting my car on bags so the controls for that will be fiberglassed into my center console.
ok...fair enough...Ill see how it works going into the glove box and I'll let you know later today...Maybe this evening...I'll attempt to post a pic or 2 also..have bad luck posting pics but I think I figured that out....I will most likely mount mine in the center but glove box may be a better option for me..not bagging but like storage space

I got about halfway done when I was handed a "honey do.." list.....But, I am up to the point where I can mount it in the glove box....I took the top dash off, and half the bolts on the passenger side....need to remove the duct on the passenger side too.....listen to this next part ...
YOU ARE GONNA HAVE TO REMOVE THE PASSENGER AIR BAG BUT IT GOES BACK IN WHEN YOUR DONE !!!! DISCONNECT NEGATIVE BATT. CABLE, PULL THE AIR BAG FUSE( BLUE 15 ON..LOOK AT YOUR FUSE BOX COVER), DISCONNECT THE PASSENGER SIR WIRES ONLY AFTER YOU DO THE OTHER 2 THINGS FIRST...VERY IMPORTANT !!!!!!!! I'll have to cut a hole in the glove box side....wires and cable will be pulled through (ill detail it tomorrow)......only thing i need to make sure of is the heater temp. cable...it's going to have to be looped and may need to make a tiny bracket to hold it in place..if it doesn't work then I'll make something that will....pics will be posted as well of the finished product..then maybe a write up in photos and media section

Looking good! PM the info on what all you did for your airbag. Didn't quite catch what you where saying. Got all of it except the last part
Was just saying the air bag is getting reinstalled. just have to be extremely careful when removing it till the power is off to the bag it's self. .I am going to go to lowes later to get something to use for a cover plate and sides..still going to retail the box just enough to fit the important papers like reg and insurance and a pack of cigs...LOL....Any ideas ? Making a cardboard template just not sure on what to use for the unit itself...

Ive used plexiglass or acrylic sheet from lowes/menards for making things like that, gauge panels etc. You can paint the back of it and its always shiny or you can wrap it with something.
Did this in my GLH omni
I missed my radio so i made the larger one.
....Rockin' the Omni !!! Haven't seen a GLH in years...friends family back home had a silver and a blue one........I'm making it out of 1/4" wood for now, fine tune it after I fit it ( gonna have to use filler...darn it....then I'll see about thermo forming that piece.....It'll look really bad if I just screw it in so I have to make this my trim plate..didn't have much time to work on it today but have a template ready to cut out..gonna try to get it cracking in the morning.Problem is that it is not a straight cut, it's curved on the right side....

I was gonna half it to leave room for paper work but said screw it....I'll add more in there before I finish it....It does work...I do suggest>>> Finding another cable, longer,it'll make it easier, also removing the dash all together or have a spare to use for fitment..in the car sux...just got to fill the hole where it ws now...lol
