After searching for this, and finding many threads similar, i have found that none of them actually include the answer. There seems to be 100 different ways..
It frestrates me that i can get my entire dash apart with ease, but am sitting here for a half hour trying to get the cigerette lighter out of the damn bezel. Im gonna take a pic to avoid confusion.
Until then, anyone have any hints??
Just unplug the clip from the back of it and leave the actual lighter connected to the bezel...I've pulled my dash many times and have never actually pulled the cig lighter out of the bezel.
But im looking to paint the bezel itself. THe bezel is out of the car, vents are out. Just cant get this thing.
Break it off, cut out the hole, sand down and mount a gauge
Honestly, idk how to pull the cig lighter out, I've never done it. I still say mount a gauge.
I believe there are tabs on each side of the lighter, use a screwdriver to pop them in from the back one at a time

Ive tried that with multiple tools and it doesnt seem to budge. There seems to be more holding it in.

I can think of at least two very useful gauges with an N/A motor...Interceptor and wideband
I haven't seen an 03 lighter, however on my 00 the lighter screws together in two pieces. There's a chrome ring that you can see from the front. This threads to the back piece holding it onto the bezel. If your is similar, then use needle nose pliers to hold the chrome ring and unscrew it from the back.
I broke my and replaced it with a $3 one from autozone lol

For those who want the answer. Grab a small screw driver, and push those tabs in and down like you dont give a $%!# =P
