I want to make a shift boot for my Cavy. It's a 97 Automatic. I just hate the look of the stick and crappy looking mesh thing in the console. I've cut out a portion of the console to make it wider by about 3/4' (and to get rid of bump around the shifter slit). I know how I want it to go, I want to put the top end around the base of the shift knob held with a zip tie on the inside. For the bottom I have something to put inside the console to prevent it from coming out. Basically the same way to boot fits on a manual trans. All I need is a pattern so my wife can sew it up for me. I've googled the heck out of it and only came up with making one with another to use as a pattern, and on here came up short on a pattern as well. So if anyone has one, it's much appreciated.
Why not just get a center console from a car with manual transmission and use that along with the factory manual shift boot? Plenty of automatic owners here have done it. It always seems to work much better when you use factory parts, plus you can get them from a junkyard for cheap. Just my $.02.
I don't want a factory boot, or the different console. Mines been repainted already and it's gotten too cold to paint another one. I have to do it in my shed which isn't heated. Last time I tried painting in there when it was this cold the paint cracked and looked like garbage.

Any interior paint looks like garbage.

All interior painting looks like garbage no matter the weather

Sorry for the double post.
It
can be done nicely, but 98% of the time it's not done nicely and ends up looking like garbage
