that's tits tink, and i like the idea sleepysunfire but imo it blocks the factory gauges too much, nebody else?i kinda wanna see some mounted on top of the dash.

It doesn't block as much as it seems. It really only blocks the centers of the speedo and tach but to each his own

Here's the most recent I've done and am going to do.
Steering column gauge is to be used for eventual boost gauge but I've got an old a/f gauge in there for effect.

a little cluttered for me blu,but how did you mount those above the steering wheel?that's kinda what i wanted to see outta this thread.

Haha, I know it's cluttered but I'm not out to win a beauty or aesthetics prize for my gauges either. lol
On mounting them, you can buy the pods that are enclosed for a flat surface mount and worked out pretty good.
In hind sight though, I'd have mounted them with different pods so that I can angle them down a bit for no reflection off of the windshield.
So far with their use, I've had no real issues with too much distraction from them.
Wires for the dash mounted gauges are visible but kept clean with loom and good routing.

no i mean how did you mount them?adhesive of some sort, mechanical fasteners how did you put them on the dash above the steering wheel since that area's all curved?i kinda had an idea in my head of doing something like this but just wanted to know how other people have done it.(without fiberglassing.).lol.

Oh, they're screwed down onto the dash.
I did do some sanding to the cups to better follow the curvature of the dash.
I'm using 3 screws to hold down the cups to the dash.
It doesn't look too bad but again, if I were to do it again, I'd do it with different cups.

Not to thread jack, but I love the 3 gauge idea where the vents used to be in the bezel...what have you guys used to get the shape and all in there?? So the thread doesnt go off on the topic of this than what it was origionally intended for, if someone can, PM me on it??? Thanks.

what I plan on doing is mounting gauges in cups out on the hood. I was wanting to do it on the cowl, but there's no room for the hood to open or shut. the reason I wanna mount them there (I'm sure somebody out there is wondering why) is cause I wanna use mechanical gauges for oil temp and pressure, and I dont wanna risk a leak or blow out inside the car

I also like the idea of a custom mount as part of the side-view mirror controls.. I saw a couple ppl do it and it looks great and really flows with the a-pillar pods

Quick question, do you have to seal off the vent behind the gauges so you can still use the vent on the right? I'm just wondering if having the heat/ac on for a prolonged period could possibly damage the guages, if they weren't sealed off.. I wouldn't think so considering how hot/cold a car can get in the summer/winter, but I figured I would ask anyway.
