alright well guys i need some help... right now i got an 18x7.5 with a +45mm offset and a P225/40R18, and im looking to get a 20x7.5 with a +40 mm offset and a p235/30R20, will this offset make the rim or tire touch the inside of the wheel wells . im not that got with all this offset @!#$ and stuff.

Honestly I think a 40mm might rub...when I test fit a friends 20's on my car they were 20x7.5 45mm and the tires were the same siz and they barely cleared...also my fenders were cut out, liners were removed, and the lips were rolled.
Pretty sure a 40mm will rub, might look into a 45mm offset like twisted tryed out.
